How to find your server name
It is in your broker's welcome email next to your account number, and in MetaTrader 5 under File → Login to Trade Account, in the Server box. Examples: ICMarketsSC-Demo, Pepperstone-Live, FXIFY-Server. Type it exactly, including the part after the dash, and use your trading password, not the investor one.
Buying a challenge: what we recommend
Buy a two-phase evaluation with a trailing drawdown at a prop firm that funds real accounts, not simulated ones. Those three together are the challenge Velox was built to pass and keep.
Not one-step, not instant
Two phases mean a lower target per phase and, at most firms, no time limit. Every phase pass resets your drawdown peak, which absorbs the choppy months. In our four-year testing the two-phase route passed most reliably at native risk; one-step and instant accounts failed on drawdown at every setting we tried.
A floor that locks
Pick a trailing drawdown that follows your equity up and locks at your starting balance once you are ahead. Velox trades in many small green days rather than a few big ones, which is exactly the shape a trailing rule rewards, and its prop mode guards the trailing line for you. Avoid firms whose trail never locks.
Use a reputable prop firm, such as FXIFY and FTMO
Pick a firm with a track record of paying traders on time, published rules that do not change mid-challenge, and clear terms on automated trading. FXIFY and FTMO are the two we point people to; both allow Velox, both document their limits plainly, and both have years of payouts on record. If a firm is new, unregulated or vague about payouts, buy the challenge somewhere else.
Before you pay, check four things on the firm's rules page: that automated trading is allowed, the daily loss limit and whether it counts floating losses, whether the trailing drawdown locks and at what level, and any consistency or minimum-hold rules. Our bots and prop firms guide explains each one.
Official partner: FXIFY
The prop firm most of our members pass on, now a partner
FXIFY is where most Velox members run their two-phase challenge, and it fits the recommendation above: two phases, a trailing drawdown, real funded accounts. Its servers have run on Velox Cloud since launch, so connecting a challenge takes your login, your password and the server name FXIFY-Server, about three minutes.
As an official partner we can now pass on a discount. Enter code VELOX at checkout on fxify.com and 10% comes off any program, any account size, evaluation or funded.
Affiliate disclosure: Velox earns a commission on purchases made with code VELOX, at no extra cost to you. The discount is set by FXIFY and may change; check the price at checkout. Velox is not a prop firm and does not run or grade FXIFY evaluations. Trading involves substantial risk of loss.
Setting Velox up for it
- Connect the challenge account on Velox Cloud with the server name from your firm's dashboard.
- Switch on Prop mode in Settings and set the phase to Phase 1. Velox then sizes every trade from the day's opening balance, keeps a personal daily stop inside the firm's, and halves risk as the trailing line gets close.
- Keep the native Safety dials: 2% daily limit, and set the max drawdown one line inside your firm's (8% under a 10% rule). Set the monthly profit target to the phase target.
- Move the phase in Settings each time the firm confirms a pass, and put the full book of pairs back on once funded.
Our own evaluation results are simulated and fully disclosed in the 277-campaign study. Past results, simulated or live, are not a guarantee of future performance.
